| A very efficient dryblower working old alluvial ground in Clermont Queensland. This dryblower has a built in metal detector which responds to the smallest bits of metal by opening a latch to let the dirt drop down a white pipe into a bucket (left photo). At the end of the day all the metal in the bucket is sorted out using an ordinary metal detector. | |

My sister Evelyn ( left), also does a bit of gold prospecting and here is holding a
panning dish of gold nuggets she found.
She has an unusual sense of humour and decided to photograph her nuggets
on a .. pair of knickers!
Evelyn loves a cup of tea and proves that you can still find gold while drinking a cup!
A cross marked on the lake shows where she has detected a signal (nearly always a gold
nugget because there is very little rubbish here), but has not dug it up. Her son Gareth
in the photo, left, or myself, were digging up the nuggets to save time as we only had the
one metal detector at this stage.

My father holding a dish full of gold nuggets - sadly belonging to another
prospector.

I love driving along 'The Gunbarrel Highway' in the centre of Australia, there is very little traffic and lots of space.

A typical goldfields windmill with colourful pink galahs sitting on it.
